Technology, ever evolving, has greatly reduced our appreciation of aethestics and our regard of the Image. Technology is promoted as a solution to our problems and an answer to our questions? The internet has made us passive, algorithms have rendered our behaviour see-through. Personal information is collected online as a method to predict our future behaviour. We are surrounded by and encounter many of our daily experiences through screens and virtual displays.
Simon’s combination of abstract painting, digital imagery, and assemblage act as a record of the unseen interactions we have with our digital interfaces.These works hold a mirror to our tumultuous relationship with this new digital phenomena; being at once, beautiful, complicated, transparent, and multifaceted.
